Corps Céleste is an immersive audio-visual performance in which the viewer participates in an ongoing dialogue between the audio and the visual. Each element is directed in real time by the performing artists and yet inspired and influenced by the presence, action and reaction of the audience. The exchange revolves around the human perception of the cosmos and attempts to depict it in an aesthetic manner while linking this discussion to technological objects. We propose a chaotic and non-linear narrative which is shaped by an organic aesthetic that, both, reflects and distorts reality. Spectators and performers find themselves immerged in an oneiric scenery, forced to rediscover the boundary of their body and the possibilities of interaction such spaces and such techniques offer. The technologies used from the process of creation to the process of diffusion acts as an extension of our mental capabilities to imagine and share ideas, emotions but also sets a common ground for dialogue. By mixing 3D scans, real video footage and 100% synthetized 3D animations, a connection between the digital world and the physical world is made. The present work is carried out by: Joon Tobias Niemi Poulsen (Au2pilot), the sound-artist, and myself, Jean-François Robin (lejeanf), the visual artist.
